Course Descriptions

The Master of Arts in Contemporary Policing and Leadership is a comprehensive 12-month program designed to equip professionals in the field of law enforcement with advanced leadership, management, and practical skills. This program is structured into two 6-month semesters, each focusing on essential aspects of modern policing and security management.

Throughout the course, students will explore key topics such as leadership and organizational behavior, applied management in law enforcement, international policing, and contemporary trends in policing. Special attention is given to the understanding of police liability, risk management, and emerging issues in policing, both locally and globally. The program incorporates both theoretical and practical elements, providing students with the opportunity to develop essential competencies in leadership, decision-making, and ethical considerations within the policing context.

Students will engage in rigorous research, using advanced methodologies to investigate contemporary policing challenges and propose innovative solutions. The program also emphasizes communication skills, ICT literacy, and numeracy, preparing students to effectively manage and lead in dynamic, data-driven environments. The research project, which is a key component of the program, allows students to demonstrate autonomy, accountability, and critical thinking in tackling real-world issues within law enforcement.

Graduates will be equipped to lead in various law enforcement sectors, make informed decisions, and contribute to the transformation of policing practices, ensuring they are well-prepared for the complexities of contemporary policing and leadership in a rapidly changing world.
