Yes, all the services provided, such as individual or group counselling, workshops etc.. are free for all the enrolled students of MI College.

Are the services of Happiness Center confidential?

Yes, all services at the Happiness Center are completely confidential and an informed consent will be taken and a contract will be signed with the counsellor, prior to the counselling sessions. Your personal information and anything discussed during counselling sessions will not be shared with anyone without your explicit consent, except in cases where safety is a concern, such as imminent harm to yourself or others, or as required by law.

Can I receive support for personal or family issues?

The Happiness Center is here to support students dealing with personal or family issues through: Counselling Services: Explore any personal or family issues, relationship issues or any issue of concern with our licensed counsellor who will provide a safe and confidential space to help you get solutions for those issues. Workshops & Support Groups: Attend sessions or groups that focus on managing personal challenges and building resilience.

What mental health and counselling services are offered?

Individual Counselling – Confidential sessions with a licensed counsellor to help manage mental health concerns, personal and family problems, professional issues. Group Counselling – Where students can share their concerns or experiences and learn coping strategies and different perspectives on resolving their issues. Workshops – Ongoing sessions on different mental health concerns will be offered throughout the year. Personality Development sessions – To help boost the students' self-esteem, confidence, motivation, leadership qualities and enhance self-awareness.

How do I change my major or program of study?

Student needs to fill out the form named as "course change or modality change or campus change". This form is available on the website and must be emailed to registrar@micollege.edu.mv

Support includes capstone projects, faculty mentorship, research workshops, access to labs and software, and opportunities to present research.

MI College assesses each case individually and provides reasonable academic accommodations based on the student’s needs.

MI college will assess the condition of each individual student with learning disabilities and provide the most suitable academic support plan to address the student's specific learning disability, including: 1. Specific formats for learning materials – such as audio recorded learning materials. 2. Extended time on exams and assignments – to allow the student to process information at their own pace. 3. Specific formats for exam papers – such as large-font exam papers in physical exams or allowing oral exams, etc.

There are no fees for transcript but for lost transcript there will be a charge MVR 500.

Can I get a refund if I withdraw from a course?

According to college policy, the admission fee is non-refundable. If a student withdraws due to personal reasons, they are not eligible for a refund. However, if the withdrawal is due to a mistake on the college's part, the student may be eligible for a refund.(*Condition Applicable)

How can I view my outstanding fees?

Students can log in to Smart School to check invoices and outstanding balances.

How do I get a receipt for my payment?

Students can generate the payment receipts from SmartSchool. For government free degree payments, students can request a fee receipt with paid stamps by emailing fees@micollege.edu.mv or through Viber at 7426202 / 7259124.

Students can pay their course fees to our BML account: Mianz Pvt Ltd, Account Number 7730000113110. If students prefer to pay in cash, they can do so at the Malé cash counter. Additionally, students can make payments through the M-Faisaa wallet.

If you are struggling with a course, we encourage you to: 1. Talk to Your Lecturer – Discuss your difficulties with your lecturer and get help. 2. Reach out to the Happiness Center – Happiness Center can provide you academic support and resources to help you manage the specific course. We can also assist you learn better coping skills to deal with the academic pressure and manage stress easily. 3. Attach with a mentor – Happiness center can help you by attaching you with a lecturer or a senior student who could guide you to deal with those difficult courses.

How do I apply for graduation?

Go to Requests in Smart School. Select request type as Convocation and sub request as Convocation Application. Choose the relevant convocation season and verify details.

Free Degree application is through MOHE, student can clarify through the Ministry. Students who need documents to apply free degree needs to request through smart school, like fee structure and free degree placement letter.

Login to Smart School, verify the result status and contact the concerned faculty if the results are not visible from the student profile.

MI College offers MQA approved programs from Certificate Level 3 to Level 9 including IT, Graphics & Multimedia, Web Development, Robotics & Automation, Digital Media Marketing, Software Engineering, and Master’s programs.

What happens after I'm accepted? What are the next steps?

Student who met the MNQF criteria will receive the Eligibility letter through mail. Confirmation letter will be sent from faculty when student seat is confirmed and after receiving it, can pay admission fee, as per the details stated in the confirmation letter.

Can I do exam online?

Students who are registered under Face-to-Face modality are not eligible for Online exams, however, in case of medical emergencies and going abroad for medical purposes, students can appeal with supporting documents requesting for Online Examinations. Students who are registered in E-Learning Modality, residing in islands where an MIC campus or Outreach Center is not available can register to do Online exams. Students who are residing in islands where an MIC campus or Outreach Center is available, have to do Face-to-Face exams irrespective of the study mode.

How are exams proctored, especially for online courses?

Online exams are conducted through Google classrooms. Online exam orientations will be conducted by the exam department for the new students who are registered to do Online exams.

Exam schedule will be communicated by the faculty in the official communication platforms. Students can directly contact the respective faculty and get the exam schedules

Notify the invigilator. Communicate with the exam department staff (Will be available during exams at all times). Appeal if required via email with appeal form.

I am having exam clash with another module. How shall I proceed with such a situation?

Notify the concerned faculty immediately and get the clash issue sorted through the faculty.

I live in an island and registered for Face-to-Face exam, however, due to an emergency, I have to travel to Male, Can I change my exam center? How shall I proceed?

Student can contact the exam department number for the respective faculty and notify them, requesting to change the exam center.

If I confuse my exam date and time, and could not attend the exam, what can be done? Will I get the exam again?

If student fails to attend exam due to confusion of exam date and time, student has to wait for final results to be published and apply accordingly (IF its RS – apply for Re-Sit, IF its RD, apply for Redo from smart school).

The appeal will then be shared and reviewed by the Academic Review Committee (ARC) 4. Based on the decision of the appeal by the ARC, exam will be rescheduled to another date with a payment of MVR 1000 per module, if APPROVED. If the appeal is rejected, the student will need to wait for final results to be published and apply accordingly
